Treating our healthcare customers right.
Operating rooms, surgical centers, hospitals, doctors’ offices and medical office buildings have been a part of our resume since 1971. In fact, one of Bill Kibler’s first projects was an addition to a medical office building.
In 2014, WBK was selected by the American Subcontractor Association as Most Outstanding Contractor in the Under $25,000,000 category for our work on the Forney, Texas, Medical Office Building. And we believe our success in medical construction is due to the personalized care and treatment we give our customers.
Striving to exceed expectations.
WBK was selected to renovate an operating room for a repeat hospital customer. The project was on a very tight schedule and highly phased. The driving issue was the removal and replacement of a rooftop air conditioning unit (RTU), as well as the ductwork and the system controls – all within 10 days. Surgeries were scheduled the date after our scheduled completion. When our HVAC specialty contractor took possession of the RTU, it had been damaged in transit. The supplier told us no replacement part was available within our tight timeframe.
Working with our specialty contractor, we contacted a specialty metals fabricator, replicated the damaged item, then had it flown on a private plane to a regional airport and delivered to the site on a Saturday. The part was attached to the RTU, the unit was put in place by crane and the install was successfully completed in time for the scheduled surgeries. The hospital was delighted with our extra efforts on their behalf.
